At the time it all seemed relevant to protest against the Dutch but in today's world it all seems rather hypocritical. Do we take the same attitude towards Australian Aborigines, American Native Indians, NZ Maoris? I think not. Indonesia tries hard to obliterate its Dutch colonisation but in reality this period lasted for 300 years and greatly influenced the culture of the Indonesian people although it has been sid that Europeans introduced graft and corruption throughout SE Asia.

I'm trying hard to watch this without stopping and starting, because its scaring the shit out of me. I am not keen on Aussie movies or thrillers, but I can't stop watching this until its over. I knew nothing about this movie before I started watching it and naiively went into it thinking it was based on a real story. That scared me twice over. Noemi trying to watch the end and I'm scared!!!

knowing St James station and the rate of honmeless ppl in the city and the declining number inn the whereabouts of some ppl, i believed this could have been true.. where did they get the news clips from?? they were real but the movie was fake?? :} i thoroughly enjoyed it and watched it 4 times staright after each other

oh you say its fiction but at the end of the movie, there is document like writing saying something about the police and im sure they showed real footage of the ending when they come out and the chic calls out for help and the gye DIES...maby im delirious......but seriously think of the reality of it......why wouldnt it be real? why not?its just as believable as it looks and the govenments obviously good at hiding important infomation.....oh and have we forgotton about the fact that there is homeless people down there......so whos gonna go down there and find out .......just as i thought.also dont forget people died during the making ..is it real or isnt it??????CONFUSED

This is really good film, it really tricks me if it is a true story so came up searching on the net if it really happened before...and was found, it was a film...this is really great movie..

Hanna is a wonderful movie. It’s one of the best movies of
2011 so far. This movie story line is awesome, graphics design and actions are

I disagree with this rating. Well, Alien and Event Horizon also had a derivative street but the plot in this film is fairly imaginative.This blog will explain.

Looks like a pretty funny movie! I know anything I've seen
with John C. Reilly in it definitely gets a lot of laughs out of me! I'm
looking forward to renting this movie for sure! I just started subscribing and
working with DISH Network as well so with their recent purchase of Blockbuster

Sam Neill is very good as usual (I would have liked some more dialogue from him), and Zane plays an extremely convincing psycho, not just a cardboard cut-out homicidal maniac but a highly manipulative, highly narcissistic beach bum with a frightening amount of emotional problems. His psychosis is revolting to behold and for me, this generated much more horror and tension than any of the combat sequences between him and Kidman, who also gives a nice performance, albeit as a forehead-smackingly unbelievable dim-wit with virtually no survival skills at all. ("JUST STAB HIM NOW!!!") I would have preferred a much more in-depth portrait of Zane's character over the on again, off again action scenes that prevailed as the more he talked, the more it made me squirm. The film leaves us wondering for far too long how Neill is making out in the sinking ship at multiple points throughout; the narrative nearly loses him for a time. More back and forth cuts for a closer, side-by-side portrait of his and Kidman's trials might have made for a more consistent pace. "Dead Calm" is good but definitely not great; too much of the screen time was eaten up by simple challenges to the characters' physical survival with not much artistry to it, except for a few memorable images such as the roaches being blasted out of the breathing tube. Instead, most of this was a fairly superficial, mostly nonverbal adrenaline ride. Also, the first ten to fifteen minutes seem to have little to do with the rest of the film whatsoever. This is a shame, as it seemed to be leading somewhere interesting. Synthesizer enthusiasts will note that the atmospheric soundtrack is dominated by the unmistakable tones of the Roland D-50.
